If your business is moving staff or permanent systems outside India, one licensing fact matters before you pack the laptops: a domestic Indian TallyPrime license is not designed to keep working abroad. The India edition of TallyPrime is blocked from activation and reactivation outside India, so a license bought for use in India cannot simply travel with the business.
What this means in practice:
- •A domestic Indian TallyPrime license will not work permanently on systems located outside India.
- •The India edition cannot be activated or reactivated from abroad, even while the license is still within its TSS subscription period.
- •Operating permanently in another country requires a license that is licensed for the country where TallyPrime is actually used.
Your licensing options abroad:
- •Upgrade to the TallyPrime International Edition, which is licensed for use outside India.
- •Purchase a designated international or regional license for your country of operation - Tally issues regional licenses for markets such as the UAE, Singapore and the UK.
Licensing rules vary by country and depend on your current license and TSS status, so check with your Tally partner before moving systems abroad. A partner can confirm whether an upgrade or a regional license fits your situation and prepare the transition before you relocate.
